Final – Host Wenvoe PC.

After the close match against the Monkstone PC in the morning, there was a mad dash to Wenvoe PC to play in the final against SWBRC-PS, who beat Pontyclun PC to reach the final. After winning five out of the six singles matches, giving them an eight-game point lead, they lost the three doubles games, allowing SWBRC-PS back into the game. At this point, SWBRC-PS were one game point ahead of Caerleon PC. The final came down to the wire, with SWBRC-PS required to win only one triple against Caerleon PC, who needed to win both.

Caerleon was the first to strike, the team of Vaughan, Coombs & Tomczyk taking the mixed singles 13/7 and gaining the first valuable 5 points, bringing their total match points to 15 against SWBRC’s 11. The second triple was needed to take the title for either team.

Unfortunately, SWBRC’s Robic, Bailey & Field team missed critical shots. It failed to stop Caerleon’s triple of Harris Jnr, Mayfield and Harris Snr, ultimately winning the game (13/8), encounter (20/11) and 2024 Championship Title.

Jack Harris received the Welsh Cup from the WPA President Tony Smith. Jack pointed the winning shot to take the game and Championship for Caerleon RFC PC.
